Ecological restoration brings together scientific knowledge and a strong sense of purpose. It plays a vital role in addressing today’s global environmental crises—climate change, biodiversity loss, and their growing social and economic impacts. More than a branch of biology, restoration is an interdisciplinary field that embraces innovation and collaboration across sectors. This vision is gaining international momentum, reflected in initiatives such as the EU Biodiversity Strategy and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. As societies increasingly depend on healthy ecosystems for food security, water resources, and public health, restoration professionals are becoming essential to building a more resilient planet.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or legal equivalent) in one or more areas of Exact or Natural Sciences, Environmental Engineering and Technology, or related fields such as: Biology, Forestry Engineering, Natural Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Agronomic Engineering, Forest Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, or other closely related scientific areas.

Preserving the Planet’s Future
- RESTORE is the first Master’s programme in Ecological Restoration in Portugal, training future leaders in ecosystem recovery through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches. It brings together ecology, nature‑based engineering, and nature‑based solutions to meet the needs of multiple sectors.

Oceanografia e Geofísica
The Master’s in Ecological Restoration is designed to immerse students in real case studies, placing them directly in the types of challenges they will be trained to solve.
The curriculum is built to adapt to each student’s specific areas of interest.
The wide range of optional course units is complemented by the many opportunities available when choosing the topic and host institution for the thesis or internship, reinforcing the close connection between theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

O processo é efetuado online. Deve preencher todos os campos obrigatórios dos vários separadores da candidatura, digitalizar e anexar os documentos de entrega obrigatória (só serão considerados ficheiros legíveis). No final do processo, submeter a candidatura – consultar Manual de Candidaturas.
Alunos finalistas de licenciatura podem candidatar-se a cursos de 2.º ciclo e cursos não conferentes de grau, de acordo com as indicações descritas no Manual de Candidaturas em Candidaturas Condicionais.
A taxa de candidatura encontra-se fixada em 40,00Euros para a 1.ª candidatura. Caso submeta mais do que uma candidatura, o montante por cada candidatura suplementar é de 20,00Euros.
Os candidatos não entregam os Certificados originais. Contudo, os candidatos que não foram alunos da FCUL, deverão fazer prova presencial dos certificados originais, junto da Área de Estudos Pós-Graduados da FCUL, para que a mesma confirme e autentique a digitalização enviada na candidatura. Poderão apresentar os Certificados logo que tenham conhecimento da sua admissão ao curso e imperativamente antes da data de início das matrículas/inscrições.
Não são aceites candidaturas cujos documentos de entrega obrigatória estejam em falta. Exceção para candidaturas condicionais em que os finalistas cuja Licenciatura esteja ainda em conclusão, têm prazos específicos para submeter o Certificado ou documento comprovativo da conclusão do grau – consultar Manual de Candidaturas.
Os resultados serão disponibilizados online, na página web da Ciências ULisboa.
